Film Permit Application

A collaborative approach

Thank-you for your interest in filming in Brantford.  Our goal is to work collaboratively to make your project successful and easy while balancing safety and convenience for our residents and businesses.  Together we will find creative solutions to support your production.

General process

This step in the filming process follows the initial Consultation(s) with City staff and the issuance of the Consultation Report. If you haven't completed a Consultation with the City, please contact us.

Once you have the Consultation Report, please complete this form to apply for a Film Permit in Brantford.  The Film Liaison needs this full Application including all supporting documentation to begin reviewing and processing the Film Permit.  This Application coupled with the Filming Checklist and Consultation Report will define the parameters for the Production’s filming activities in Brantford.

General timelines

Brantford strives to be flexible with the tight timelines associated with film and tries to work with Productions on required deadlines.  Generally, however, the City requests that the initial Consultation be completed no less than 15 business days prior to Coning.  The Consultation Report will be provided to the potential Applicant within 3 business days after the full Consultation.  An Application for a Filming Permit is requested no less than 10 days prior to coning.  The period for the reviewing of the Film Permit is generally 1 business day from receipt of the Application, but may require up to 3 business days.  Please note that approval for a Film Permit is not guaranteed with the submission of the Application.
