Please complete this form to start a formal Film Permit application.  The Film Liaison needs this full Application including all supporting documentation to begin reviewing and processing the Film Permit.

General timelines

Brantford strives to be flexible with the tight timelines associated with film and tries to work with Productions on required deadlines.

Generally, however, the City requests that the initial conversation/conversation be completed no less than 15 business days prior to Coning. An Application for a Film Permit is requested no less than 10 days prior to Coning. The period for the reviewing of the Film Permit depends on the complexity of the film project.  Generally the Film Permit is issued when all related approvals and payments are in place. IATSE note: While this doesn’t often apply to most filming projects, there is a connection between the IATSE Local 129 (representing Brantford employees at the Sanderson Centre) and the IATSE film local in Toronto. There is an arrangement between the Brantford local and the Toronto local about the use of additional/local crew if required for performance platforms and stages. This is applicable only to City facilities and lands, but it may be something to keep in mind if your crews are IATSE.
